The McDonald’s chain has announced that it is opening two new Australian stores in 2019.
McDonald’s Australia has confirmed it will open its first Australian store in Brisbane in March 2019 and its first in Melbourne in March 2020.
“McDonalds Australia has made great progress over the last 12 months to create more than 60,000 jobs across the region, with the majority of those in Melbourne and Brisbane,” McDonald’s said in a statement.
The company also announced that the company is bringing back its Australian flagship in Sydney, opening a store in the city’s CBD in 2019, and opening a new store in Perth in 2020.
McDonald, which has around 30,000 employees in Australia, has also announced plans to open an Australian outlet in Sydney’s CBD and in the Gold Coast city’s inner west.
In October, McDonald’s Australia announced plans for a further 20,000 construction jobs to be created over the next 12 months, with an additional 300 permanent staff expected to be hired across the country over the same period.
McNabb also said on Wednesday that McDonald’s plans to expand its Australian operations in 2019 by a further two stores.
McNab also said that the burger chain will expand its Sydney store to 40,000 square feet and will expand in Brisbane and Melbourne by 50,000 to 100,000sqft in 2020 and 200,000 sqft in 2021.
