When a McDonalds employee accidentally hit her head against the window of a truck during a shift, her friend, Jennifer Stiles, thought she had just seen her friend die.
The accident, which occurred Saturday in a Walmart parking lot in Dayton, Ohio, has shocked the community and left Stiles and the driver of the truck, a Walmart employee, with serious injuries.
In a statement, Walmart said the driver, who was not named in the complaint, was placed on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
The truck’s owner, a Dayton company called D-Cadillac, said it has “never been involved in a fatal accident involving a McDonald employee,” according to the Dayton Daily News.
A spokesperson for Walmart said in an email to ABC News that they have since reviewed video footage from the store and will cooperate fully with authorities.
A Walmart spokesman said in a statement that “the safety and well-being of all of our associates and associates who work at the Dayton Walmart are our top priorities.
We are cooperating fully with the authorities and will continue to do so.
We do apologize to anyone who has been impacted by this incident.”
