The Australian car and motorcycle dealer that became a Chinese supplier to Australian manufacturers was sold to a Chinese company for $2.6 billion.
The acquisition of the Melbourne-based Bluefield is part of a larger deal for Bluefield that includes buying out the remaining equity stake of its Australian business, The Australian Financial Review reported on Wednesday.
The sale of Bluefield, which was founded in 1999, will create a Chinese-owned dealership in Melbourne, the newspaper said.
Bluefield is based in Melbourne and has been selling car parts since 2001.
It employs more than 3,000 people in Australia, including about 1,000 in Victoria.
