‘Cooperates should be developed as means of benefiting poor’

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma  Kumari Aryal, has spoken the need of developing cooperatives as a means of improving the status of poor.

During her address to a cooperative programme at Waling of Syangja today, the Minister said the government was committed to ending dependency and making people self-sufficient through the right promotion of cooperatives. She went on to say that those Nepali mothers and sisters who were totally dependent on others in the past had been become economically empowered with the help of cooperatives and it was obviously a happy moment and must be continued.

On the occasion, she shared the government was preparing to bring an act to expand the activities of cooperatives for bringing positive change in people’s life. —
